A while back, around last fall, we decided to take our above ground pool down. The wind blows almost constantly at our place, although its beautiful here, we are lucky to get decent days where the wind doesn't seem like its going to blow you away. My oldest daughter and husband spent a lot of time in the pool together when she was younger, she had a lot of fun with it. It became worn out, it was in need of a new liner, rarely getting used anymore, and so we thought it was time to be done with the pool.
We have since decided to repurpose the deck that was in place for our pool and turn it into a swingset/play area that my husband has been working on for our little one. A slide was given to us by a family member, and we ordered some swings, a little play steering wheel, telephone and telescope. Joey is excited, its a work in progress but its coming along nicely and I know she will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I love how my husband can take what we already have and turn it into something functional. Something I'm not very good at, its hard for me to envision what something will look like until its actually finished.
When we were outside the other day enjoying this weather and trying to make the most of these uncertain times we are facing, I couldn't help but think about how everything we do in life is like a " work in progress" including ourselves. I thought about how I am a "work in progress" how I could take this time to read my Bible more, not just now but use this time as a time to refocus to work on myself, to say i'm gonna read my Bible everyday and actually do it, to be a better Mother, wife, friend & daughter. To not only take this time to improve cosmetic things around the house, but improve everything about my relationship with God and in every other aspect of life that really matters.
